First Impressions Count Whether
you are trying to sell your house or you just want to spring clean your
home, first impressions count. It’s a well-known fact that curb appeal
adds to how fast a house can sell, but once you’ve got them up the
garden path, the next thing they will see is the hallway and here is where
some people overlook. Your hallway is the first impression a buyer gets of
your home so it pays to spend a little time and money making the most of
one of the places that everyone takes for granted. 6 ways to give your hallway the
wow factor 1.
De-clutter,
it sounds obvious but get rid of all those shoes you don’t wear and the
coats that are piling up on the wall. 2.
Get
great flooring, if you are luck enough to have period floor tiles keep
them, if not make sure that the floor is neat and hard wearing. 3.
Clean
your floor, whether it’s tiled, laminate or carpet make sure it is scuff
free, pop down a welcome mat and if necessary clean up after each person
goes in or out. 4.
Touch
up your walls, your hall walls are rubbed by hands coats and shopping bags
so make sure that the paint is not marked or the paper isn’t torn. 5.
Make
it bigger, you might think that your hall is narrow but try using a few
mirrors to give the illusion of space. 6.
Check
your lighting, there is nothing worse than bad lighting in a hall way,
clean your light bulbs and make sure you have good fittings. |
